Thank you to everyone who came out to our first fundraiser for the Health is Wealth Foundation. The room was full of good food, good conversation, and people who showed up for a clinic most of them have never seen. That’s what stayed with me. Every person who walked in, bought a ticket, or shared the event helped move the Yarawadu clinic forward, and we are so grateful.
This year’s raffle prize came straight from Sierra Leone: a tote from designer intro.specbags, called Welcome to Lungi City x The Children Under the Bridge. We wanted the prize to be something people would be proud to carry, made by a Sierra Leonean creative whose work deserves to be seen.
We are a US-based nonprofit serving Sierra Leone, and we wanted the raffle to connect the two. Tickets and shirts were going all evening, and when we finally called the winning number, the whole room cheered. Congratulations to our winner, and thank you to everyone who entered. Every donations goes toward building the clinic in Yarawadu, a project we are carrying out together with the community.
If you couldn’t make it, you can still help at sierrahealthiswealth.org/donate. Follow along on Instagram at @hiwf_salone for updates, and check out the designer at @intro.specbags. Thank you for building this with us.
