Thank you to everyone who came out to our 2nd annual fundraiser. It meant so much to look around the room and see how many people are invested in this. I gave a short presentation on where the Yarawadu Clinic Project stands after one year, and I want to share it here for everyone who couldn’t be there.
Why we’re doing this
Our mission is to bring healthcare to communities and make sure everyone has access to essential services and support for their well-being.
The Yarawadu Clinic Project has three objectives: improve healthcare accessibility, foster community engagement, and enhance educational community health resources. Our goals are to reduce chronic and infectious disease, lower maternal mortality, increase health awareness, and support local healthcare workers.
What the clinic will look like
The floor plan includes a waiting room, pharmacy, examination room, treatment room, consultant room, office, and storage. We designed it so families can walk in and be seen close to home.
What we’ve done in one year
It started with bricks, made on site and left to cure in the field. Then the foundation was dug, the walls began to rise, and the building started to take shape, with window openings and its first column. The community has been part of this every step of the way.
What we still need
We are not finished, and I want to be honest about that. Right now we urgently need funds for transportation, equipment, and completing the walls and roof. The community is fully invested and has shown up. Now we need to show up alongside them.
